A decorative Coalbrookdale-style cast iron umbrella stand, modelled with Young Hercules wrestling a snake, a subject drawn from classical mythology. The sculptural figure is set within an ornate cast iron composition, giving the piece strong Victorian character and architectural presence.
Both practical and highly decorative, it would make an impressive addition to a hallway, entrance, hotel, restaurant or period interior.
